The Dupplaw Name

People often ask about my name. Dupplaw is a name from old French and apparently means "of countrymen". It's not clear if that's old farmers or the sort of countrymen that own manors. My ancestors came over from France in the 1800s, first to London, later moving to Bristol. Some of that family moved to Wales, where many of my more recent ancestors are from. Indeed, many Dupplaws still live in the area.
